Roles and Permissions

Common questions about who can do what in Outreach.

What Roles Can Use Outreach?

Org Admins, Admins, and Campaigners can access Outreach.

  • Org Admins can do everything: configure channels (Twilio, SendGrid), manage domains and senders, change organisation-level settings, manage users, and run campaigns.
  • Admins can run campaigns and manage Campaigner users, but cannot configure Outreach channels or change organisation-level settings.
  • Campaigners can create and manage campaigns but cannot access settings or manage users.

Operations users do not have access to Outreach. See Roles and Permissions for a full breakdown.

What's the Difference Between Org Admin and Admin?

An Org Admin has full control over the organisation, including Outreach channel configuration (Twilio, SendGrid), domain and sender verification, billing/subscription, and user management.

An Admin is an in-product administrator scoped to the Outreach product. They can do everything an Org Admin can do except change organisation-level settings or configure the Outreach channels themselves. Use the Admin role for team leads who should run the campaigns programme without access to integrations or organisation setup.

See Roles and Permissions for the full comparison table.

How Do I Add a Campaigner User?

Org Admins and Admins can assign the Campaigner role to users from the user management area of the Admin app. Only Org Admins can assign the Admin role.

Can a Campaigner Access Settings?

No. Campaigners cannot view or modify Outreach settings, including API keys, domains, or senders. Only Org Admins can access the Settings page. Admins can run campaigns and manage Campaigner users but also cannot access channel settings.
